TC Kids

FAQs

How old does my child have to be to participate in TC Kids?

We have age-appropriate programs for children ages birth through 5th grade. After 5th grade, students attend the regular weekend services and may participate in TC Teens.

Are snacks provided? Can my child bring his/her own snack?

A small goldfish cracker snack is provided for the toddlers and preschoolers. There is no snack provided for the elementary kids. We ask that you don't send your child with a snack. There are participants that have allergies and the snack you bring may trigger an allergic reaction. We also want all of the kids to have the same snack.

What can they expect to do and learn during their time in TC Kids?

We teach the same basic truths that we learn about in the weekend services—to love God completely (Upward), ourselves correctly (Inward) and our neighbors compassionately (Outward). We use age-appropriate curriculum from a variety of sources depending on the specific topics to be discussed.

Our preschoolers participate in game time, music time, a video lesson and a small group discussion with lesson-appropriate crafts.

The elementary kids participate in a large-group music time, followed by an interactive lesson. Students are then separated by grade into small groups where they further discuss the lesson with a leader and their peers.

How do you select and train leaders?

Our servant leaders have passed a background check and have been through TC Kids servant leader training. Our training encompasses discussing our vision and values, child protection and safety procedures, engaging children in an age appropriate way and an overview of curriculums used.

What security measures do you have in place in TC Kids?

All outside entry doors remain locked during the services so that the only way to enter TC Kids is through the lobby. Upon checking in, your child will receive a name tag with a security number on it. You will also receive a sticker with the same number on it. The only way to check the child out of the room is to show the room leader the matching security number. Also, in case an emergency of any kind should arise, our TC Kids staff is trained in evacuation, lockdown and other emergency procedures.

How will you contact me if my child needs me during the service?

If you are needed during the service, we will first send a text message to the cell phone of the person who checked in the child. If after a few minutes there is no response, we will put the security number on one of the large screens in the auditorium. At that point you may return to TC Kids where a servant leader will greet you and take you to your child.
